Dummer
Dummer is located in Hampshire, 6 miles south west of Basingstoke and 52 miles from London. The village has a small population of around 650 residents.

Dummer is well-known for being where the ‘Dummer’ surname originated, as the Dummer family were Lords and Mayors in the 12th to 16th century. The family has now progressed to many areas of the country with the first being a member of parliament and the most recent being a Canadian judge.

Dummer is also known for its different sporting associations, with one of the most popular attractions being the Dummer golf club and another being the Dummer cricket centre, founded by the late Major Ronald Ferguson (Sarah Ferguson’s father).

Famous residents from Dummer include the Dummer family as previously mentioned. Sarah Ferguson, duchess of York, and Charles Rycroft, psychologist.
