Leicester
Leicester is a city located in the East Midlands of England, approximately 100 miles from central London. Leicester has a total population of around 330,000 people and is the county town of Leicestershire.

Leicester’s football team is Leicester City Football Club, which was elected to the football league in 1894. The team has won many league titles and cups including the FA cup.

Leicester is home to many museums including the National Space Centre, the largest space-dedicated attraction in the UK. The centre features a planetarium and displays real rockets for visitors to inspect. Other museums include the New Walk Museum, Newarke House Museum and the Carillon War Museum.

Famous past and present residents of Leicester include former Liverpool and England footballer Emile Heskey, who was first recognised when playing for the Leicester City Football club. Others include Sue Townsend (writer), Gary Lineker (football commentator) and Joe Orton (actor).

Neighbouring towns to Leicester include Wigston (4 miles), Coalville (12 miles) and Nuneaton (20 miles).
