Worcestershire is located in the west midlands of England, approximately 130 miles from central London. The county covers a total area of 672 square miles, with a population of approximately 600,000 people.

AsWorcestershire is a rural county, it is well known for its vast countryside and outdoor attractions. One of the most popular places to experience is the Malvern Hills, where trails afford spectacular views over the county.

Music and theatre are popular in Malvern. The Malvern Theatres Complex overlooks Priory Park. Housed in an Edwardian building, the complex is a popular cultural centre. The theatre's West End style helps ensure big-names in drama, ballet and opera play Malvern. The Forum Theatre has great acoustics for musical performances.

Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings is an open-air museum of rescued buildings. The museum came about following the dismantling of a 15th-century timber-framed house in Bromsgrove in 1962. The reassembled building is known as the 'Merchant's House' today.

Famous residents of Worcestershire over the years include actor Mark Williams who played Arthur Weasley in the Harry Potter films. Others include Trudie Styler (producer), Charles Dance (actor) and Robert Hamer (director).

The county borders Herefordshire to the west, Shropshire to the north west, a small part of Staffordshire to the North, the West Midlands to the north east, Warwickshire to the east and Gloucestershire to the south. Worcester is the only city in the county and has a cathedral on the banks of the River Severn.
